At the end of 1996 'Corrie en de Grote Brokken' was founded; a unique band with twelve top people of the Dutch pop- and jazzworld. Initially 'Corrie en de Grote Brokken' was set up as a one-off project, but because of the great enthousiasm of the audience, the press and especially the musicians themselves it has become a permanent and close group who from time to time keep a period free to play together.

'Corrie en de Grote Brokken' is about cross-over in the true sense of the word:
Cinematic music, popsongs, dialogues, composed and/or improvised parts, hilarious intermezzi, alternate eachother in a high (and sometimes slow) tempo; ‘brokken’ (chuncks). Because of the exceptionally good chemistry between the different groupmembers they've managed to reach a synthesis between different idioms and disciplines without it becoming groundless feretting. In this way Corrie en de Grote Brokken has obtained itself a special place on the Dutch podiums and the concerts are highly looked forward to.

After two succesful programmes of Corrie en de Grote Brokken in 1997/1998 and 2000/2001 there's finally a sequel. Corrie en de Grote Brokken III already showed in may 2004 in Frascati. The CD 'Het Land is moe' with the recordings of these concerts was released in the Bimhuis on 2 november 2005, coupled with a tour through Holland.

Corrie en de Grote Brokken III

The last programme “Kado uit de hel!” ("Gift from hell!") related especially about the struggles of love. This time social discomforts like loneliness and intolerance are focused on. Words, amongst others by Remco Campert, Josse de Pauw, Esther Gerritsen, Drs. P and Jan Mulder
