How can we intertwine composition and improvisation?
In this workshop we will play pieces that vary in their ritmic, melodic and harmonic structures. By means of these structures we will explore the possibilities to improvise, with the focus on the relation between composition and improvisation.
Felicity Provan (cornet, voice) is an improviser whose professional career has spanned twenty years. Since being based in Amsterdam,’90, Felicity has performed and recorded with musicians such as: Michael Moore, Curtis Clark, Anne le Berge, Ab Baars, Corrie van Binsbergen, Ig Henneman, Michiel Braam, Rajesh Mehta, Mary Oliver, Sean Bergin and Joost Buis. She is currently a member of Joost Buis’ “Astronotes”, Sean Bergins “New Mob”, Trio Kaufmann/Provan/Vatcher and the David Kweksilber Big Band.
