Yesterday on the brink of New Year with frontlady Corrie van Binsbergen celebrating her own Brokken Festival in the Bimhuis I heard THE line up of the year: Corrie herself on guitar, Eric Vloeimans, trumpet, Hein ‘always progressing bass’ Offermans and Yonga Sun, a to me unknown, young, but phenomenal drummer. A grooving mess, with subtle trumpet whispers by Vloeimans combined with the sharp and sometimes ripping sounds of Corrie's guitar. A groove you don't hear, but feel. Unknowable, unheard of, whirlingly beautiful. I truly hope they will make a CD out of it one day. It is as in the Olympic Games: the gold medals come from the ladies!
